Janaki Sooriyarachchi

Janaki Sooriyarachchi, a versatile author-illustrator from Sri Lanka, began writing in her early childhood. She wrote her first book at 8 and got it published at 14. Despite starting her career as a banker, she continued her passion for art and literature. She has authored over 175 children’s storybooks and received awards, including the State Literary Awards in 2004 and 2007, and the Bunka Award in 2005 from the Japan-Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation.
